Some real good mountain bike movies.

This Off Road to Athens I just bought about a year ago is the best cycling documentary I have seen. It is by Gripped Films, a really good film company, and it is about the world cup races the cyclists raced in to get to the Athens Olympic spots in 2004. They took 2 male bikers and one female biker from America to race in the Olympics. The story is great and showed some pretty good action. I really liked the music from the film and I even bought the soundtrack cd to listen to. The picture was good, the music was good, and the story was good. To those who haven't seen it, should. To family members, you can borrow mine to watch it. It is even good for those who don't bike, my mom really liked it.

Gripped Films just made another mountain bike documentary this year called 24 Hour Solo and it just came out. They first showed in the theater during the Sea Otter Classic Bike Race and other theaters all over the country last March. I am planning to buy it in June or July and I am really looking forward in watching it!

Me, a country boy or a city boy?

With all that country music, the mooing of cows, and sounds of trucks and fourwheelers is sure a hell a lot better than the sounds of cars honking and airplanes roaring above. Even though I hate country music and farms, I still like the peace in country towns. But I like to do city stuff, not country stuff. I ride my bikes, not fourwheelers. I drive cars, not farm trucks. I listen to rock music, not country music. I ski, not snowmobile. I see me as a city boy living in the country. That's it, I am a city boy that lives in the country. I love the peace and views in small country towns but not the loud noise and city lights everywhere. In fact, there are more places to go on my mountain bike in the country than there is in the city. I hate to ride in the city with all the cars around. So I head up the mountains and ride peacefully with NO people. Yeah, you can get some riding up the mountains by the cities but look at all the people there! In the country you can go up there and you feel like you are out there in the middle of nowhere. It is actually nice and you can head up there every day without driving 115 miles out of the city to get some peace and quiet. The bad thing about living in the country is that those Sanpete idiots in old trucks give you a bad time when you are on a bike because they don't like city people. The farmers are nice but when they see you on a bike or on skis, they want to run you over or shoot you and say, "You don't belong here! Go to the city!" Oh, they are not that bad but it is sure a heck lot better than riding around with so many cars and people around. I hate farms, I hate cows, I hate farm equipment, I hate how people gives a such a big deal about you because you live in a small town and everybody knows each other. So, the only reason I am here: The peace and quiet, more land, and less crowds. So call me "City Boy in the Country".

One hell of a climb!

Today, I decided to go to Fairview Canyon and do the Widowmaker to get away from the crowds of the Scandevian Festival in Ephraim and Ephraim Canyon during Memorial Day Weekend, I tell ya, it was one hell of a climb. I was going the lowest gear and max. heart rate all the way up. It reminded me a lot about the mountain bike widowmaker race from Gad Valley to the top of the tram in Snowbird. I felt the same way as I felt in that race. It was hard and I about died at the top. I made it to the snowboard park in Fairview Canyon in one hour and then I turned around. It got really cold up there. The temperature on the climb I say it was about 65-70 degrees and the top was about 55, it was perfect for the climb and the downhill was great. I was bombing down at 40 miles per hour. There was still a lot people on that road but not as bad though. It could have been worse. Well, I will go later again this year and go all the way to the top during peak season. I really like to go up Ephraim Canyon because of the mountain biking and stuff. The climb there is good too which I do every week. I love to climb, it's what I do.

My DeWalt drill....

I got my DeWalt drill last Christmas and it is the best tool I had for a long time. I have been using it so much in the past few months and it worked great. I beat the heck out of it and it works like new still. It also came with an extra battery and work light and I love the work light. I used that so much in the dark basement when the power is out every time. It is very bright. The drill has adjustable speed and torque. I love that and when I am screwing things in, sometimes I want it to go real slow and it can do that. DeWalt makes the best power tools and it is worth the money. Those wimpy Black and Decker users out there, like Mike and Tony, throw those away and buy DeWalt power tools. Oh yeah, I bet those Black and Deckers are broken and needs to be thrown away anyways. So think about spending an extra $50-100 and get the real tool that will last a long time and will be cheaper because it is better to buy one DeWalt tool and use it for 10 years instead of buying a new Black and Decker every year. One of my co-workers said that he had his DeWalt drill for seven years and he beat the hell out of it and used it everyday at work. He loves the battery too, it has so much power. The battery on mine lasts a long time and then after that I got an extra battery in the charger to use and plug in the dead battery. It is sooooo nice.

Sandy is back!

After 3 confusing weeks for Sandy, we put the couches back in the living room after the carpet and paint was done. As soon as the couch was laid, Sandy got on the couch and looked out of the window. She was on the couch for a while and this is the actual picture of the first time she got on the couch after the house was redone. Sandy is back on track now.

The house is remodeled.

I am done remodeling mom and dad's house. It is repainted and recarpeted. The only things I didn't do is the carpet and putting in the fireplace. We had someone else do those things. I did do the wood and tile mantle around the fireplace and repainted the house. I also put in the new french closet doors. The house looks real nice. We used different colors than white on the walls, Cafe la Late downstairs and Brazilian Tan upstairs. It was a lot work and it took almost two months to do it all. The mantel only took a day though, but the painting took 3-4 days on each floor. Mom and dad really likes the house now and it is so nice to be in the basement watching tv. We have been watching a lot of tv down there.
