Sadie And Duke Are Barlows Now

I went over to the Willardsons house across the street to see and Sadie and Duke and Mr. Willardson came to me and said he would give me a hundred dollars to take Sadie and Duke. I told I would think about it and I decided to take them. Of course! I would be glad to take them, I really like Sadie and Duke, the two Labordors. I took the hundred bucks to build a kennel for them in my backyard. I built it in a half a day and took their dog houses and plywood sheets(will use those for a roof for the kennel), and dog food. I spent $110 for the kennel using IFA fencing stuff and bought two great big 5 gallon buckets to use them for food and water. Sadie and Duke are good friends and they are good friends to each other. They stick together all the time. The Larsens are very happy about it but Bonnie Olson is definitely not happy. I don't care what Bonnie thinks and they are on my property and tuff luck. They don't bark at all and are very quiet dogs. They are very patient and I took them on walks today and did fine with them. I will take them on walks like every day or every other day. I finally have some dogs.

The Lite Brite

Josh wrote something that really describes me, I got a piece of paper and wrote "Dan is cool" on it and I told him to trace the lines and this is how it turned out. Brightly lettering and says "Dan is cool". You are cool too Joshua.

Certain Sacrifices Have To Be Made To Obtain The 2007 Titus Oseo

Everybody knows that I wouldn't do that. I've seen real people do these kind of things while I was on my mission. A family that lives in a trailer and the father has a $60,000 Harley Davidson motorcyle parked in front and had a Harley Davidson leather jacket on. The mother complained about how he puts all his money in his motorcycle and not spend it on his wife and kids. Horrible. A real bad example. They were mormons too, we ate dinner with them. There is also a lady in Everett that couldn't afford piano lessons for her daughter because she said she has to have her $2.00 latte every morning. Pretty selfish on her kid. Really bad. Just a few examples for all of you that has kids. I don't have to worry about that because I don't have any kids. So I get to buy whatever I want.

What Would Tony and I Do Without Trails?

I would be a nightmare for me and Tony and his family if there were no trails. It almost happened too, when Al Gore was running for president and said that he was going to close down all the trails. I know a lot people didn't vote for him because of that. I am glad he was never president. Without trails, Tony and I would probably go golfing miserably with Rob and Michael every weekend. We would watch more TV and get fatter. Tony wouldn't be working on buggys and motor bikes. I would have to play that game in that picture above. I don't think Rob and Michael would care because they don't go up the mountains and the golf courses would still be open. Yeah, what would we do without trails? Be miserable and probably would have to go to the mental hospital because of that.

My Racing Days

In 1997 and 1998, I raced mountain bikes all over the state and it was so fun. The first race I did was at the Five Mile Pass Showdown of the Cannondale Cup Race Series. There were 400 and something people there. I did the beginner class at the ages 16-18 and I got first. It was great. I was 5 minutes ahead of the second guy. The next race, I jumped into the sport class and got 2nd. The next year I decided to do expert 19-24 because I turned 19 during that time. I was about 10th place everytime and the best I did was 6th. It was a lot harder class and I did about 9 races all over the state that year. I even did the Norba National in Deer Valley and got 44th place which was right in the middle, there were 80 racers racing in that group. I tell, it was the funnest time of my life. It was hard and especially fun.

These two pictures were in my first year of my bike racing, it was in Brianhead. Brianhead was my favorite because it was like the Ephraim mountains. The Scout Loop trail we raced on there was extremely fun, it had lot's of singletrack and twisty turns. I kicked my ass on that one and finished third in the sport class.

This is my racing buddy behind me, he was behind me all year including the Deer Valley National race. I had a good time staying in front of him the whole year. His name was Kelly Ryan.

Barlow's Roof

On Saturday, March 31st, 2007, a new roof was put on mom and dad's roof. It was done in 4 hours and everything went perfect, enough shingles(only a half of a batch left), enough air hoses, enough nailguns, enough nails, perfect 65 degree weather, and enough people. There were 6 people and 2 kids working on the roof. Two people on each nailgun, one lays out the shingle and one nail it. It looks like a professional job. So thank you anybody who worked on the roof. The roof looks really good, it wouldn't look any better. Joe helped a lot and we want to thank him for coming and helping us and also want thank everybody for helping cleaning the old shingles off the ground after we finished the roof. That was really hard work. So, another 30 years.
