Labor Day Weekend Project

After spending all Saturday morning during Labor Day Weekend riding road bikes with Brach Schleuter and Steve Brown to Milburn and back, I decided to do a little project in the cabin. I built bunk beds. I spent all afternoon building them and they are strong that a 300 pound man can sleep on it. It is sweet. They are built to perfection. That way, when grandkids can visit, they can sleep in the cabin. Now 3 can sleep in there, 2 on the bunk beds and maybe one or two can sleep in the loft. They can sleep in it during the winter AND the summer, the cabin has an air conditioner and it will have an electric fire heating stove. I will buy that sometime before winter so the cabin will be ready. On the second picture you can see that I resanded the pine wood floor, there were some spots that looked bad and needed to be resanded and revarnished. I will buy some polyurithane, maybe two gallons of it and revarnish the floor and then varnish the bunk beds also. It should look beautiful when all this is done. There are still a lot of things need to be done in the cabin, I need to redo the sheetrock on one spot on the ceiling and new a new cabinet in the corner. I might buy some kind of nice soft chair for the person to sit and watch tv, a cheap chair though. I don't want to spend a lot money on the cabin but it will look really nice for guests to stay in it.

When I met Brach Schlueter and Steve Brown, Brach asked me, "What are you doing?" I said, "Just riding around." Then he said, "If I was your age, I would be chasing girls!" I said, "Ya, that would be nice."
