My Racing Days
In 1997 and 1998, I raced mountain bikes all over the state and it was so fun. The first race I did was at the Five Mile Pass Showdown of the Cannondale Cup Race Series. There were 400 and something people there. I did the beginner class at the ages 16-18 and I got first. It was great. I was 5 minutes ahead of the second guy. The next race, I jumped into the sport class and got 2nd. The next year I decided to do expert 19-24 because I turned 19 during that time. I was about 10th place everytime and the best I did was 6th. It was a lot harder class and I did about 9 races all over the state that year. I even did the Norba National in Deer Valley and got 44th place which was right in the middle, there were 80 racers racing in that group. I tell, it was the funnest time of my life. It was hard and especially fun.
These two pictures were in my first year of my bike racing, it was in Brianhead. Brianhead was my favorite because it was like the Ephraim mountains. The Scout Loop trail we raced on there was extremely fun, it had lot's of singletrack and twisty turns. I kicked my ass on that one and finished third in the sport class.

Really, REALLY cool Daniel! You were in dang good shape! You were even good enough to kick your own ass! Just like in Liar Liar. I really liked looking at your photos.
Hey Daniel, you brought back some great memories. We loved going to watch you race. It was fun and you surely did well.
