Goodbye Warm Day...

Today was the last official warm day before the brutal cold winter for the next four months. It was really nice but an emotional day at an above normal 70 degree temperature. It is the last day to wear a t-shirt and shorts outside. Then from tomorrow and then on until my St. George mountain bike race on March 2nd, 2009, will be a chill. So, I tried to enjoy the day when I could, of course, I went on a bike ride, a road ride. First I went along Witch's Knoll then rode from Ephraim to 5 Mile Junction and back and on the Witch's knoll again at a total of one hour and five minutes. It was a good little easy ride without killing myself this time. A lot of people were out on their yards trying to enjoy the day by raking leaves. The weather forecast looks like it's going to be in the 50s and start raining and snowing starting tomorrow. It is also time for daylight savings time change. Fall back, spring forward. The good old days are gone until next April, according to Ephraim.

Winter is around the corner. I wish we could afford to travel south more during the winter. I don't mind the cold temps as much as I don't like the snow covering the trails etc. I'd like to explore what knolls is like this winter if we get a chance, it's very rocky and sandy..should be good for winter riding etc. If I was smart, I'd just save my pennies for the spring though. I don't care what the time does..I just don't like the shorter days;)..and the &%@! snow..get through the holidays and looking forward to spring:)

I wouldn't have a problem with winter if I had more money for skiing. I guess snowshoeing tops it all anyway, it's a fun sport without the crowds in ski resorts and just go in the backcountry and enjoy the cool fresh air but it would still be fun to downhill ski though. I'll probably go skiing at least twice this year, if Timberhawk really calls me back.

It was warm today..what's up with that??

I don't know. It was weird, I went mountain biking yesterday though. I probably should have put up Christmas lights too.

Skybob said...

Christmas lights in early November!! C'mon man.

Daniel said...

Ya! Where's your Christmas spirit? Mom already bought presents for everybody, you one, and Mike one.

Putz said...

Ugh, winter. The only good thing is Christmas. mom

Daniel said...

Now that's the spirit mom!

Skybob said...

Mom is buying presents now to get a good deal, beat the rush, have some sort of a selection..save some cash(and to get it over with!), we do it too, it has nothing to do with "christmas spirit", c'mon man.

Uuuuuh, am I the only one with the Christmas spirit? Oh no! I am like Clark Griswold! C'mon man, there's nothing wrong with having some excitement already, I mean, your kids are probably already excited months ago. I just like having the time off, the tree experience, the lights, the smell, presents, food, and food!

No, not at all... they were excited for Caineville though.

Skybob said...

...they were excited to Halloween, they'll be excited for Thanksgiving when the time comes, and I am sure they will be excited for Christmas..when the time comes!:)

Daniel said...

That's cool, because I don't get excited for Thanksgiving because it's too boring so I get the Christmas spirit 2 months before.

Well, I guess I would have to agree with that...I guess I'll be reading like Mike and Rob or something..but hey, at least you can look forward to a free soda at maverick.;)

Who the crap is this "Ehpraim"? You can't ever predict the weather for more than about 4 or 5 days out.."according to Ephraim" it won't be 64 degrees next week. LOL;)

Skybob said...

..of course winter is inevitable, but October, November etc. so much can happen!

Daniel said...

I am just talking Tony. Geez man, get a grip. A lot can happen in Oct. and Nov., we just went to Mesa Verde in Oct., and Nov., I go biking out there sometimes.
