My new job...

I now work at Custom Cabinets by Brent in Manti. I am a cabinet maker and it is a more busy job than homebuilding and I also like it better than homebuilding. I don't have to work outside all year long, it is really nice. In the summer, it is air conditioned, and in the winter, it is heated by a wood stove that burns the scrap wood. I really like my job and I think it is really great. My boss is really nice too, it is just me and my boss working in there.
The shop is all metal so you can't have a cell phone in there because all that metal around you and would kill it. So Brent doesn't have a cell phone. We also have a pet cat around the shop and her name is Kitty.

The inside of the shop. Well built.

This table saw is worth $40,000 and it is all computerized. It is really nice because it is mainly used for cutting laminate wood sheets and plywood to the very perfect square. I love this machine because you don't need a tape measure to adjust the fence, you just type the measurement and it will adjust automatically! He also has a $250,000 machine to laminate wood edges for shelves.

Spray Room. Sometimes you have to wear a mask if you are spraying a lot of varnish.

We sanded, stained, and put 3 coats of varnish on all these doors and drawer fronts. It took us three days. This job takes a lot patience. And to make sure it is done right with no mistakes at all.

That table saw is worth more than Tony's new truck! Hey Tony and Mike, can you tell us about your work and take pictures of your buildings and offices and put it your blogs. I would really like to know what your place looks like.

It looks like a nice little quiet place to work. Not a lot of people around. Cool.

Quiet? phfffffffffft, that place is noisier than screaming kids in the day care center. With all the machines runnin', especially the dust collecter, fans, and the air compressor in the other room. Then all the sanders, routers, saws, and all the power tools. I don't really mind it as long it is only eight hours then I can go a real nice peaceful bike ride in the mountains. Now that's peace, there is nothing peacier than the mountains which is my favorite place to be. The shop is another good place to be because I can work on wood and make things and play with all those machines. Home is also a good place to be because of the relaxation. So, it's the mountains, home, and the wood shop are my most three wonderful places to be and definitely not Walmart! I know Tony's favorite places to be are Moab and his garage.

Yes, we have that movie, and the game...posters, toys...
It sounds like they are having fun. I hope Hannah doesn't forget to say "daddy" and give her dad a big hug when I see her. They love fire and fireworks. Hannah had a great time on the 24th. The boys and I put smoke bombs everywhere we could think of. Hannah liked the loud ones the best though. I can't wait to see them again. Thanks for the update.

Yes, I was really surprised she kept pointing at me and call me "Daniel" constantly. It did make me real happy and it cheered up my day today.

She has that affect on me too.
