Dave Weins Beat Lance Armstrong in Leadville 100...

After 100 miles and over six hours of racing, the duel between Gunnison, Colorado's, Dave Weins and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong came down to one minute and 56 seconds, the advantage going to Dave Weins(who beat Floyd Landis in the last year's event). The Leadville 100 is an out-and-back, super endurance race that leaves from Leadville, Colorado, just before dawn and climbs to more than 14,000 feet on singletrack and fireroads. Dave's finishing time of six hours, 45 minutes and 45 seconds was 13 minutes faster than the record time Dave had set last year(with Floyd pushing him). Dave credited Lance Armstrong for his record time explaining that he and Lance worked together for 90 miles of the race, even riding ascents that Dave had hike-a-bike in the past. The biggest news may be Lance's decision to contest the race next year. I have a feeling that Dave Weins, will be prepared. Lance is also going back to road racing next year. I have two friends, Rich Murdock and Durke Gordon also competed the Leadville 100 this year and they both finished in 10 hours.

Clueless...

After this week...I am laid off. We have no work right now. So, I am out of work. I guess he said I would be off at least 2 months until he gets a job...maybe longer. The work all over the county, actually all over the nation is very slow. So, this economic crisis really sucks. Stupid Bush. So, I don't really know what to do, look for another job, or wait until my boss calls, or work at another job until then. I am not sure about anything, so I am clueless. Any suggestions?

Mountain Bike Race Schedule for next year...

I am planning to do all of these races next year but I might miss the Deer Valley Race in June because of the North Carolina trip but I will do the Norba Nationals in Deer Valley later in the month to catch it up. Racing schedule:

There are three of those races I will have to stay in a motel but at the Sherwood Hills, I will have to stay in Mike's house, then Evanston, I will have to stay in Tony's house, if that is fine with you guys. We could plan a family trip to Jackson Hole if you want on July 25th weekend, I will go race and you guys can do whatever you want or you can watch me race, heck, maybe race too!

Mt. Nebo Loop bike ride canceled....

The road cycling grueling climb on the south side of Nebo Loop held Oct. 4 with a bunch of guys such as Brach Schleuter, Steve Brown, Allen Nell, Brian Whipple, and Durke Gordon is canceled due to a snowstorm. I started on the laundry room project today instead to relax me. I don't know but we might ride it next week, who knows?
