Upcoming Trip: Kick my own ass in St. George...again

Yep, here I go again. I enjoy kicking my own ass so much that I want to do it again...do you mind? I am going to St. George sometime in the month of April and do the Green Valley Race Course again. I love the trail so much. There is still snow in Ephraim and I desperately want to go riding on the dirt! I have been road riding at least 3-4 times a week in the last month and I get bored of it and want to go mountain biking on some fun trails badly. Before it gets in the 90 degree temperature starting in May in St. George, I better go in April. So, in April or never, until next year. This time I am staying in the Super 8 motel in Hurricane(next to St. George) because of the bad motel stay experience last weekend(noisy baseball team). The Super 8 is much cheaper too($50). I am going alone this time, dad can come if he wants, but I am sure mom and Becky don't want to go again because they are preparing the the Park City trips when the time comes. It's always such nice weather down there. A lot of people, but not on the bike trails! When I went there last weekend, I saw only about 6 other people on the trail. Sweet. Fact: I read the newspaper today and St. George, Ut is the second fastest growing city in the nation. Palm Springs, FL is first, Raleigh, NC is 3rd. I can see why. Also, Mrytle Beach is 4th and Charlotte, NC is like 6th. The Carolinas must be a popular place. You are so popular Karen!

Another great ride!

My weekend extended another day because there was nothing to do at work today, we are completely done with the Aztec project so hopefully the wood for the next project came today to start on tomorrow. I will go back to work for sure tomorrow though. It was just a perfect day to not work, it was 69 degrees today in Sanpete County! So, I definitely went on a huge road ride today. My legs are still sore from the St. George mountain bike ride so I kept my heart rate below 150 today. I started at 5 mile junction and went on the backroad to Spring City, then to Mount Pleasant, then up the Whispering Pines Road. Then rode all the way back to the car. I logged in like 35 miles in 2 and a half hours. The Whispering Pines was the best part, the picture above is Whispering Pines Road and it is a good climbing road. The last part is really steep. But I have to say, I still love mountain biking soooo much better, but the road ride was a good relaxing ride.

Kicked my own ass in St. George....

Oooooooh! What a grand time! Kickin' my own ass in St. George over the weekend! I got a great sun tan on my arms and legs(tan lines on them). So warm down there, about 75 degrees, just perfect. It was really crowded in the city of St. George but when I went out on the trails, it was heaven. My bike handled great on the Green Valley Race Course, lot's of singletrack! I did two great laps and I'd definitely do it again. I am thinking of going down there again while my boss is installing cabinets in Aztec, NM for a few days sometime in the next week or two. I can just go down there alone and stay in a Super 8($50 a night), then ride the trail again the next morning. It will be a weekday, so it won't be as bad though. There's no place to ride up here yet! There's still snow on the ground. While I was riding the trails in St. George, I had my new action camera on my helmet but the camera was down to low and it video taped too much of the trail but not looking ahead, so I fixed the problem, I mounted it on the handlebars and tested it and everything, so it's ready to go! I hadn't had a fun time in a long time!

Change of plans....

Well, change of plans! I am going to do a different trail on my St. George trip on the 21st and 22nd. It used to be Stucki Springs Trail but I changed my mind, I am going to do the Green Valley Race Course(just north of Stucki Springs Trail). This has more singletrack and more fun stuff on it. This is the trail they use every year for a race of the Intermountain Cup Race Series(the race series I used to do). I missed this one out though. I would like to do this one because I always wanted to try this one out.

This is Travis Brown, he is from Durango, CO. He raced in this race just two weeks ago(March 1st) on the Green Valley Race Course in the Intermountain Cup Series. He got 5th in the Pro class. He was an Olympian mountain bike racer during the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He is one of the two they chose to race in Sydney Olympics.

This is Bart Gillespie from St. George, he got 1st. He's 1st in every race. Oh, I remember good old Bart back in my racing days. He is a really nice guy. He beat an Olympian(Travis Brown). Amazing. Bart could go to the Olympics if he wants to but he only wants to race in the local races, I think. He is a mormon though. I used to race against his brothers in my class.

So, I have been tagged. My book is the Carpentry 3rd Edition college text book. So on page 127 on the fifth line it says,

It is talking about routing on how to make a circular cut. Yes, I need to learn how to do that. We didn't study that in college.

Movies

When I go see a movie or rent a movie, it is always entertaining...well depends on what movie you get. You may dislike it or like it because of your personality. Everyone always look at the back of the movie and reads the rating the first thing they see before he or she reads the summary. G, PG, PG-13, R, or unrated are the ratings. It can be good if you are a mormon and really care about how bad or good it is. Here are the information about the ratings and to think about what you really should get next time you go see or rent a movie:

G-means Good: a good movie can be the most entertaining for kids and most boring for grown ups. Most parents love to watch these movies with their kids and find it very entertaining, no swearing, no humor, well maybe a little bit of bad humor. Can be a cartoon or a good movie but may be stupid for teenagers and grown ups.

PG-means Partly Good: a movie with lots of cartoon bad humor and kids find it very entertaining because of the humor. Grownups may also find this movie to be entertaining because the humor may be funny enough for them. There are some movies that are serious PG movies that are just based on a true story and so on for the whole family to watch. These movies are great family movies.

PG-13-means Partly Good 13 and over: a great movie for mormon grown ups and any kind of teenagers. Great date movie and can be very entertaining clean flick(compared to R movies). Has bad humor, some grown up material and jokes. Some movies may have a light sex scene in most of them and have sex and crude humor in comedy movies. In serious movies, can have some violence and grown up talk but not too grown up that you don't get it. Great movies for mormons.

R-means Retarded or some cases, Really Good: only for people that are 18 and over and not are self conscious about themselves(not making good decisions). A no no for mormons. In some cases these CAN be good movies, depends on how it is made. Too grown up conservations can be made in these movies and sometimes can be too confusing to follow. In these movies there are always a heavy sex scene be thrown in and can be very disturbing. Disturbing images, too violent, and too much really bad swearing and also be thrown in in these movies. Not a great movie for dating if you are a mormon, because you are not following the standards and the girl will just throw you off. Speaking of really good movies, some of these movies can be really good but there is always something disturbing but CAN be ignored, if you don't mind the violence(like 300 or Alien), you might find it entertaining.

Unrated-means Unmovie: This is a definitely a no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no movie for everyone. The first thing you should think about before renting this movie is there is always a really heavy sex scene or nudity in this movie. Another thing that they put down parts they wouldn't even dare to show it in the theater. It's for those losers that really want to see a movie that goes to the extreme. Way to violent, too many disturbing images, and porno type scenes.

Salem Project...

Yesterday and Thursday, my boss and I went to Woodland Hills near Salem(between Spanish Fork and Payson) to install some crappy prefabs in a $400,000 home. It was fun and a lot of work. They don't look too bad but I really don't like prefabricated cabinets. I don't why the contractor wants prefabs in all of the nice homes he built, so he can save a few thousand on each home to buy him a truck? Probably. I really like the home, I would buy it if there were some REAL cabinets in it, and better electrical.

Nice staircase, the only thing I like about this home. Oh, and the $3,000 wood front door too.

My boss installed all the kitchen cabinets and I did all the bathrooms and the laundry room. The picture above is the master bath. I did those.

After we were done Friday at noon, my boss and I decided to go boy shopping all afternoon in the Provo area. We went to Timberline Woodworking Supply, Western Tool Supply, Lowe's, and Home Depot. My boss bought an 18 volt DeWalt drill and I bought a DeWalt miter saw. I really love my saw. I bought it from Western Tool Supply. My boss bought the drill from Timberline Woodworking Supply. They are really good stores. Much better than Lowe's or Home Depot.
